Coaching to support female employees

My news feed this month has been full of parents juggling work and home-schooling, myself included! Amongst the lessons, I've been busy planning lots of exciting things for 2021...

First up, we've been coaching a number of employees for some fantastic organisations who are supporting their people during the crisis. This inspired us to introduce new coaching bundles meaning you can now book our transformational 1-2-1 coaching as bundles of discounted sessions. Our expert professional coaches can help with a host of different professional, personal and practical topics in the current climate. Do get in touch to find out more

I am also delighted to have been nominated for WeAreTheCity's Rising Star Champion Award and been interviewing some amazing women for my next set of Forbes articles including Ann Taylor, Chief Medical Officer at AstraZeneca and Dawn Childs, UK Change Director at National Grid. Next on the cards for 2021 will be launching my own podcast to share some of these incredible stories!

Here are my 3 things to know this month:

  1. #ManagementTransformed. It was wonderful to talk to Ann Francke OBE, Chief Executive of the Chartered Management Institute about its latest #ManagementTransformed research and how it compares to our own research 'Rethinking Leadership Through a Gender Lens'. In both sets of findings, we were struck by the importance of workplace wellbeing and empathy in leadership as one of the most valued managerial traits for the crisis. Read my latest Forbes article for our joint insights on how we must “build back better”.

  2. Positive gender balance updates! Although the pandemic has put gender balance at increased risk, there has been positive news this month. Entain has appointed female chief executive Jette Nygaard-Andersen, raising the number of women leading FTSE 100 businesses to six, a new study finds that companies with women on boards perform better and 7 UK companies made it in to the top 20 of the European Women on Boards Gender Diversity Index. Delighted to see Auto Trader on the list who we supported with one of their women's networks events last year.

  3. Five ways employers can champion gender equality. I love this blog post from Business in the Community which is a great short read on steps employers should be taking to support women in the workplace. Well worth a read and again highlights the importance of leading with empathy.

Finally, do download our free research report for our recommendations on actions that organisations can take to create a culture of wellbeing and embed empathetic leadership, particularly important whilst working during lockdown.

And if you'd like support in your journey to a more gender balanced workplace in 2021, I'd love to have a chat about your plans and see how we could support you. Just drop me an email at joy@myconfidencematters.com.
