Men: The missing piece of the gender balance jigsaw

I am so excited to launch my new podcast ‘The Confidence Conversation’ supported by the wonderful team at Capability Jane Recruitment.

Join me for today's first ever episode with one of my own role models, Vanessa Vallely OBE, on finding your courage. The theme for the first season is 'Being Your Best Self' so if you need some motivation, inspiration or a boost of confidence, give it a listen now. And if you like what you hear, it would give me a real confidence boost if you could leave a review and subscribe. Thank you!

YOU CAN LISTEN HERE NOW!

In other news, here are my 3 things to know:

  1. Breaking the menopause taboo. Channel 4 aired an incredible documentary with Davina McCall talking openly about the menopause. It's a programme that I think everybody should watch, especially as menopausal women are the fastest growing group of workers in the UK. With 9 out of 10 women feeling that menopause has a negative impact on their working life, this is a topic I'll be writing about in my book 'Don't Fix Women'. If you can share any examples of companies who are doing good things to support women, I'd love to hear from you so please do get in touch.

  2. The Times Top 50 Employers for Women 2021. Despite the challenges of the past year, the publication of the Top 50 Employers for Women shows there are some amazing companies doing their best to keep gender equality a priority. Congratulations to our clients and all the companies who were listed this year! You can read more about this year's list here, and also how they responded and adapted to the pandemic in the BITC 'Leading The Way' report.

  3. Men: The Missing Piece Of The Gender Balance Jigsaw. In my latest Forbes article, I speak to Julia Muir on how fixing women to fit in better is not the solution to a gender balanced business. In this article we discuss what men can do to help, and a reminder that we are also delivering virtual Allies Workshops for organisations, covering how we can all (men and women) be the best allies possible. Drop me a message to find out more.

Finally, to finish on more good news...I was honoured to be featured as an #InspirationalWoman in the latest WeAreTheCity Inspirational Women series. You can read my story here where I talk about the challenges I've faced along the way and today's launch of 'The Confidence Conversation' podcast.

I really hope you enjoy listening to the podcast and please do help me spread the word by sharing a link to the podcast with your friends, colleagues and networks.

Thank you and forever grateful for your support,

Joy
