Job sharing - Four steps to success

Continuing our LinkedIn Live Spotlight Series, Joy Burnford is joined by Laura Walker, Co-CEO of The Jobshare Revolution to explore job sharing and top tips for organisations looking to implement job sharing. As Laura explains, all jobs can be job-shared but you need to ensure you have the right mechanisms in place. Progressive leaders and the best employers are now recognising that it is critical for people to be able to work flexibly from a time perspective and different approaches to work are becoming much more prevalent across all ages and genders.

Our four steps to success are:

  1. Build awareness and education - job sharing can be a real solution and work well in high impact, senior roles

  2. Assess feasibility of roles and candidates - build a pool of talent at the same time as building a pool of roles

  3. Establish ways of working and contracting - start small and learn by doing

  4. Embed, iterate and thrive - talk to your people about what they want and what will work for them.
