Sarah Churchman OBE
Sarah Churchman OBE is recognised as one of a handful of professionals who pioneered what is now known as Diversity, Equity & Inclusion back in the 1990s. She is an experienced global Human Resources (HR) professional with a particularly deep-rooted specialism in DEI and workplace wellbeing having advised Boards, both UK and Global, within the professional services industry and in the private, public and third sectors.
Based in the UK, she has had responsibilities spanning the EMEA region and globally. She is known for creating and leading strategic change initiatives to ensure alignment of organisational culture with business strategy. Her approach as always been data-driven (even when that wasn’t fashionable!) and collaborative, connecting across networks and stakeholders to bring insights and to recommend solutions that are easily implemented and measurable. She has a proven track record of innovation and thought leadership, is an articulate commentator and writer and always leads with tenacity, energy, empathy and courage.
After nearly 40 years in corporate life, Sarah is now enjoying a combination of consulting and voluntary work (30% Club, Mindforward Alliance and enei), bringing her experience to opportunities where she continues to learn, grow and have a positive impact on business and society.
Sarah’s achievements were recognized in HRH Queen Elizabeth’s New Year’s Honours List 2018 for services to gender equality and diversity in business – a definite high, along with surviving Radio 4 interviews with John Humphreys and Evan Davis and a live TV broadcast on the Victoria Derbyshire show!
