Reverse mentoring

I start this month with a request! As you may know, the challenge I set myself for #ChooseToChallenge this year is to write my book called 'Don't fix women' exploring how achieving gender balance at work isn't about 'fixing' the women, it's about changing the system.

I will be looking to my network to share examples of tools organisations are using to get ahead of the game on gender diversity, and this month I'm interested in 'reverse mentoring' where companies pair younger employees with senior leaders. If you've taken part in reverse mentoring yourself, or can share any examples or introductions, please do get in touch. It would be greatly appreciated!

Here are my 3 things to know this month:

  1. Try out The Female Lead's new Fulfilment Finder! Having interviewed the incredible Edwina Dunn OBE about her research on the #EntitlementGap, I completed The Female Lead's new Fulfilment Finder which discovers what fulfilment means to you. My persona was 'The Executive/Achiever' which probably doesn't surprise you! This means that when I'm feeling fulfilled I'm a Leader and a Connector. The output for me was incredibly accurate and I'd recommend you to try it. Do share what persona you are!

  2. How to be a more confident you, our 8-step Confidence Cycle. We've had lots of interest in our 8-step Confidence Cycle (TM) this month. In our latest guest blog post, Jeni Thakrar, Talent and Inclusion Partner at Canada Life, writes openly about the instances where confidence has suddenly disowned her, right at the moments where it mattered. We're delighted to have helped Jeni in her confidence journey, and it was a pleasure to host an event for her colleagues at Canada Life to mark #IWD21. Drop me a message to find out more about the Confidence Cycle.

  3. In case you missed them live, watch me speak at my latest events! It was a pleasure to speak at The WealthiHer Network She’s Got This virtual global summit on our research 'Rethinking leadership through a gender lens' and for the SouthWestminster BIDs panel event on 'The impact of the pandemic on working women'. I'm delighted that you can now watch both of these events in full (and for free!) here on our website.

Finally, I am pleased to announce that we have extended our pool of coaches to include two American coaches with excellent credentials and who are closely aligned with our values. Mandy Rollins and Mary Hodgson are excited to start delivering our coaching programmes to our international clients.
